He also adviced me low carb diet and physical activity. FROM day1 i started walking about 10kms in the morning and an equal distance in the evening as well.
I totally stopped all sugars coffeetea snacks juices junk food nonveg etc. As a result of the above i lost abt 24kgs80kgs in a matter of 5months. By the end of nov2011 the doc adviced me to stop medication. Now my weight is 78kgs as on 5jan2012. I stopped walking and workouts just warm up for abt 20mins a day both in morning and evening i want to know whether i have aquired diabetes. Because even after stopping the medicine i am still losing weight. And also my hypertension is back to its 140100 to 14090. I totally stopped all medicines both metformin and bp tablets.
I have been feeling tingling sensation in my right foot after stopping the medicines. When i consulted the doc again he prescribed me vitamin supplements to regain the minerals that i have lost in the past 6 months. One of my cousin told me who is a medical student that i might have aquired type 2 diabetes and thats the reason why i have lost this much weight in a matter of 56 months. I am too much worried. So i went for Random blood glucose test once in every 15days days. They showed 91mgdL and 82 mgdL in a span of 2 weeks.
But the doc adviced me to cut down salt in take totally. I am so much worried beacuse i am a bachelor and my mom is a also i am bald since age 22. This makes me to look like a 40plus man nowitself. Since am bachelor this is hurting my social life coupled with weight loss it puts me in a pityful condition. The same doc said that he wud suggest me MINOXIDIL topical solution for hair growth. I want to know answers for the following1. For how many years i can delay the progression into type2 daibetes2. Some ppl told me the stopping metformin can bring diabetes soon.
Doc advised me to include egg whites and chiken meat for protein food. Whether this will improve my weight to some extent4. I want to delay the progression into diabetes atleast till age 4045. So now afterlosing morethan 24kgs definitely those cholestrol levels must have come down much lower value.

I think the current thinking is that its just programmed into your cells and if youre going to get it theres nothing you can do. If you eat and exercise as if you were diabetic then at least when it comes back you wont do damage to your body before you learn you have it. That and keeping your blood pressure under control will lead to a long healthy life. I am bald too. I would rather have hair of course but being bald is not shameful or sinful or anything.
