Why is the obesity rate in america so high

I dont mean to offend any overweight people on Yahoo answers but its a simple fact that the obesity rate in America is 40 thats 4 out of 10 people that are overweight there is still people that are a little fat but not obese. It also seems like its just accepted by most Americans they continue to eat and not exercise. If they just changed their diet the obesity rate would go down significantly just imagine if they exercised tooI know there is a stress of having a fulltime job and all other things in life but its up to you on how you want to live your life.

I always wondered why clothes in America Canada are so big and baggy I mean even the normal regular Golf shirt is baggy its not a tight fit its basically like we produce our clothes for fat people and encourage them to stay fat. I have to go to special places to get Vintage Fit clothing that fits to the body. FYI Vintage fit is basically shirts shaped like a V because that is how your body is suppose to be. It also seems like so much Americans just drink beer and then eat junk food then bash people that dont.

Why dont more people have the motivation to take life by the horns and turn it upside down. Face the challenge of obesity and beat it Surprise all of the naysayers. Too much Americans and even Canadians just drink beer and eat crap. I realize that sometimes it does come down to genetics but its possible to beat it its basically all about your diet anything is possible. Just start off by talking brisk walks and then turn that into jogs and you could swim or cycle if the jogging is hurting your joints. There is always tons of stuff to d.

I agree. Ive thought about this a lot and I think one of the primary reasons is our transportation system and feeding that no pun intended the general wealth of the country. I live in the US but have traveled extensively in Europe and Central America and have seen that places that have more dense urban settings usually have fewer fat people because people are expected to walk bike or at least take trains and buses. Even cities like New York have fewer fat people because people walk a lot. The fat people Ive seen in NY are usually tourists.

The ease of avoiding walking places leads to a series of unhealthy choices starting with a lack of exercise and eating cheap fast food in your car. If you look at the fattest cities in America I imagine you will find giant looping highways and really spread out population concentrationscities like San Antonio TX Kansas City MO Houston TX Minneapolis MN etc. Im no scientist but this is my personal observation. So if you live in the US and dont want to be fat drive less walk more.
